Some English 150 and 250 sections are designated as Learning Communities and are linked to specific disciplines, allowing instructors to connect the readings and assignments to the disciplinary area. The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) oversees the Learning Communities program and provides instructors with a small fund for special classroom projects. Semester luncheons either feature guest speakers or allow English instructors to meet with their partners in the linked disciplinary course(s).
