Step 1<\/h2>\n
Select the week that you want your students to access the link and click on the “Add an activity or resource” button. Scroll to the bottom and select URL. You will be taken to the Adding a new URL page.<\/div>\n

Step 2<\/h2>\n
\n

Fill out the form, supplying the required information for each section. Give your URL link a name and description. For your students to be able to view the description, check the “Display description on course page” box.<\/p>\n

In the Content section, type in the actual URL address. If you’ve previously placed the link on the file picker on ISUComm Courses, you may select the link by clicking the “Choose a link…” button.<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/h2>\n
\n

Next you will select how your URL will appear to your students. First, click on the box next to “Display” to open the drop-down menu and select your preferred display style.<\/p>\n

Automatic<\/strong> – when the URL link is selected, the user will be directed to a separate page with the complete link available to click on and then taken to the website.<\/p>\n

Embed<\/strong> – students who click on the URL link will be taken to the selected website. (Note: This option may not work in all browsers).<\/p>\n

New Window<\/strong> – when the URL link is selected, students will be automatically taken to the website by way of another window opening on their browser.<\/p>\n

Open<\/strong> – The website will automatically open in the same window.<\/p>\n

In pop-up<\/strong> – The website will appear in a pop-up window. For this option, you can specify the height and width of the pop-up window by clicking the “Show advanced” button.<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/h2>\n
“Save and return to course” will take you back to your course page. “Save and display” will take you to a page from which you can view your added URL. “Cancel” will not save the URL link.<\/div>\n
