Welcome! This tutorial shows you how to change your Moodle text editor from the default text editor to TinyMCE.
In Moodle 2.7, the default editor used for inputing large blocks of text changed from TinyMCE to Atto. Atto is a Moodle-native text editor designed for better mobile accessibility and simplicity of use. Atto does not have some of the options that the previous default text editor, TinyMCE did. Specifically, you cannot change text colors, and the ability to change font sizes is more limited.
For these reasons, some users might want to switch from Atto to back to TinyMCE. You can do this by changing a setting in your personal preferences. The steps are as follows:
Step 1) Click your name in top right corner of the page > “Preferences” > “User”
Step 2) Click on “Editor preferences”.
Step 3) Choose a text editor (probably “Atto” or “TinyMCE”) and click “Save changes” at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4) At this point you will be re-directed back to the “Preferences” page where you can just click “Home” in the upper left corner and go back to your Moodle front page.
